nice mix of scary and funny, I was pretty sure there was gonna be a jumpscare but Im glad there wasnt haha. Did he ever think to have someone else with him when doing acid LMAO
this has to be my favorite one of your animations yet, i love all the characters and how absolutely off the rails this one is!
I love the sprite work and character design, honestly the entire feeling of this game is super cool. The music was really good, and I loved the two dissonant notes that seemed to always take me by surprise whenever I heard them. The dialogue is one of my favorite parts- I originally talked to the other birds again because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss any dialogue, but the fact that they changed and you hear either what they're really trying to say or what your mind wants you to think they're saying is a super cool touch. It's very sad, very creepy, but strangely melancholy and nostalgic. My favorite thing is the quick screen that comes up when you die, it feels like the entire system is rebooting.
I've always been quite bad at platformers, so I have been struggling more than the average person with timing my jumps and attacks. I do think that it would be a little easier if my character moved quicker, but honestly the whole theme of them being different than the others makes this make sense. Still, the game is a bit hard and the learning curve is severe, but this is probably just a me problem LOL.
I love the use of just two colors and the dotted and janky backgrounds and characters, it just ties the theming of the game in with the feeling of playing it.
I haven't finished the game yet, I'm on the third level (I think) after you talk with the other birds for the second time and am having quite the struggle, but it's seriously fun (but will take me more than a couple tries to get through). I understand that this is a short game so I don't expect this, but I hope that the storyline gets expanded upon the closer I get to finishing! I'd love to know why these other birds hate my character so much- why I keep choosing to go back to them (or why I don't have a choice to not see them)- and why I have to go through these labyrinths filled up with creatures. It's an insanely intriguing setting.
Great job on this game!
This game is so simple and so cute! It has the perfect balance of being a bit challenging while being able to learn how to play quickly. I love the sprites of the little dogs and how they bounce to the happy music all together- and don't get me started on the two-frame animation of a dog when it gets a treat, I can't help but go "omnomnom" out loud when one of the dogs eats it! It's too sweet! The fact you could portray this amount of character and cuteness for the dogs with such a small and simple sprites/animations is a great feat on its own!
The idea of forming an unstable, ready-to-topple tower of dogs just so they can help eachother get a treat is so creative and cute. This game is super heartwarming and I grinned the entire time playing it! Great job!
This is such a sick and cute little game! im usually not good at roguelikes and bullet hells (especially the dodging lol), so i appreciate the difficulty choices. the game becoming hard because of what you choose is a great idea, and the "lesser of two evils" you choose between is something i haven't seen in a game before. the boss was a bit easier than expected though, but i don't mind it too much since it may just be me getting better along the way, therefore predicting how to best beat the boss.
The amazing music, sprite work/art, and movement/flow of the game reminds me of playing old atari games on my dad's box computer (our atari 2600 broke before i was born lol)-- the one that comes to mind is Haunted House. this game definitely brought out nostalgia i didn't know i still had, so it makes my feedback maybe a tinnnny bit biased, lol. I love hearing the little glitches in the music (that I don't know are intentional or not) since it makes the feeling of playing this all the more awesome.
Great job to everyone who worked on this!
Thank you for the thoughtful comment, I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
so cute i love the stylization
for your first time drawing a background, cars, and perspective this is super sick! you already have a nice starting grip on all of the three, keep going with this type of work if you want to! its really cool :D
genuinely thought this was a crazy photo taken by a camera drone, but its even more crazy you modeled this and used ONLY ONE TEXTURE?? youre super skilled and talented.
Thanks ! :) It was a city shot with a building in front and distant lights. The front building resulted in the big blocks and all the small stuff amounted to the noise visible in certain places. I cut out different areas to make all the smaller lights, thats why they are same-ish.
